Using Pesticides

  • Read the label carefully
  • Never use more than is recommended or plants may be damaged
  • Do not spray when the temperature is above 30 degrees, as some pesticides can damage plants under hot conditions
  • Do not spray open flowers
  • Do not spray in windy weather when the spray can carry to open blooms or frut
  • Keep domestic animals out the way
  • Pesticides can have a disruptive effect on wildlife - don't use them where they can contaminate streams
